Looking to cool off? Best places to visit in Iceland

Iceland is a land of astonishing beauty, with vast landscapes and striking geology. The country has a long history and boasts some incredible attractions that make it one of the world’s top tourist destinations. In recent years, Iceland has seen an influx in travellers from all over the world due to its stunning scenery and diverse culture. Whether you are interested in whale watching, exploring glaciers or soaking up the cosmopolitan atmosphere Reykjavik has something for everyone.

Glacial lagoons and ethereal waterfalls

I absolutely loved Iceland. The landscape was beautiful, the people were friendly, and the food was delicious. There were so many things to see and do that it was hard to pick just a few favorites. However, some of my favorite places to visit were the Golden Circle, Reykjavik, Geysir, and Vatnajökull National Park. In Golden Circle, I was blown away by the views of the Glacial Lagoon, the Reynisdrangar islands, and Gullfoss waterfall. Reykjavik was a beautiful city with a rich history. Geysir is one of the most famous natural attractions in Iceland and it was definitely worth seeing.

Vatnajökull National Park is a beautiful place to explore, with glaciers, waterfalls, and dramatic landscapes. I also enjoyed staying in various places around Iceland. My favorite was Hvítárvatn, a beautiful lake with crystal clear water. It was perfect for a relaxing vacation.

What to bring

One thing to keep in mind when visiting Iceland is that it is a very cold country. Make sure you have all the proper gear to deal with the cold weather, including sturdy shoes, a good coat, and a scarf. Additionally, be sure to pack snacks, drinks, and warm clothes for when you hit the slopes or the valleys. Iceland is a great country to visit in summer, but be aware that it can be quite chilly at night. In winter, Iceland is perfect for skiing or ice climbing. However, don't forget to pack your heavy coat and warm clothes for the colder weather.

Best places to stay

The best places to stay in Iceland vary depending on what you're looking for. Some popular choices include hotels in Reykjavik, Hvítárvatn, and Vatnajökull National Park, camping and cabin rentals in the mountains, and condo rentals in the city. There are also a variety of homestays and guesthouses if you want to experience a different part of the country. Whichever place you decide to stay, be sure to enjoy the local food and drinks. Icelanders are known for their hearty dishes and delicious drinks.

Personally, I loved Iceland and would definitely recommend it as a place to visit. It's beautiful, the people are friendly, and the food is delicious. There are so many things to see and do that it was hard to pick just a few favorites.
