Where to get decent money exchange in Buenos Aires?
The problem with traveling outside the country is that you always have to carry some amount of cash with you. You should always have a way of withdrawing money and exchanging it in a foreign country at a decent rate without the fear of getting scammed or receiving counterfeit bills. I've actually had some bank person (in another country) refuse to change my $100 to local currency because they do not have a machine validator and assumed I was giving them a fake bill! Talk about dealing with weird stuff.
In Buenos Aires, just like in most of Argentina, you can use only so much pesos when shopping. Don't even attempt to exchange the peso to a neighboring country's currency, it will lose much of its value. When you leave, make sure you've used up all your pesos. Did I say shopping? Time to bring me home some mate cups for my coca tea.
